Hanoi, May 30, 2025 – The Australia-Vietnam Strategic Technology Centre (AVSTC), a key hub for innovation, was honored to host Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung and his delegation for a significant visit and working session. This visit highlights the growing commitment to Australia-Vietnam technology cooperation and the development of cutting-edge solutions.
During the session, Minister Hung engaged with AVSTC leadership to review current operations and discuss future strategic directions for the Centre, which is proudly supported by the Australian government. Discussions emphasized AVSTC’s vital role as a bridge for research collaboration, high-quality human resource training, and technology transfer between Vietnam and Australia, particularly in critical areas like 5G, AI, and cybersecurity.
PTIT’s Ambitious Innovation Goals
Alongside AVSTC’s pivotal role, the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), the parent institution, has set bold targets for 2025 to further bolster Vietnam’s innovation landscape:
- Global Startup Expansion: PTIT aims to support at least 3 spin-off startups from the Institute in expanding their operations into the European market.
- Leading Innovation Hub: The Institute strives to become Vietnam’s No. 1 university in Innovation.
- Dedicated Innovation Zone: PTIT is actively researching the establishment of a dedicated Innovation Special Zone directly within its campus to foster a vibrant ecosystem for groundbreaking ideas.
