The seminar “Artificial Intelligence in Visual Computing: From Biometrics to Art Authentication”, delivered by Prof. Hassan Ugail, was successfully held at the Australia–Vietnam Strategic Technology Centre (PTIT) on 14 August 2025.
During the seminar, Prof. Ugail presented advanced technologies in the field of visual computing along with real-world application projects. His talk emphasized the role of artificial intelligence in biometric authentication, including identity recognition from childhood photographs and the restoration and authentication of identities from low-quality images, supported by cutting-edge technological solutions. In addition, he shared AI applications in cancer cell detection and authentication of historical artworks. These projects not only demonstrate profound scientific value but also highlight how visual computing is increasingly intertwined with real-life applications.
The discussion and Q&A session took place in an open, engaging, and academically rich atmosphere, reflecting the strong interest of the Vietnamese scientific community in AI applications in visual computing. Prof. Ugail also devoted substantial time to professional exchanges and exploring potential collaborations with Vietnamese researchers, paving the way for promising future research partnerships.
The organizing committee sincerely thanks Prof. Hassan Ugail for taking the time to deliver a presentation rich in expertise and high practical relevance. We also extend our deep appreciation to all distinguished guests, researchers, lecturers, and students for their presence, attentive listening, and active contributions, which greatly contributed to the success of the seminar. The success of this event once again affirms the significance of international academic exchange activities in connecting knowledge and inspiring research, while fostering strong motivation for the next generation of scientists to advance further on their academic and creative journeys.
