The seminar themed “6G Perceptive Mobile Networks with Integrated Sensing and Communications: Technologies and Applications” presented by Prof. Andrew Zhang, and “In-band Full-duplex Technology for 6G Mobile Networks” delivered by Dr. Tuyen Le, took place successfully on October 15, 2025, at the Australia–Vietnam Strategic Technologies Centre (PTIT).
In the first part of the seminar, Dr. Tuyen Le introduced In-band Full-Duplex (IBFD) communication, a key enabler for 6G networks that allows simultaneous transmission and reception to enhance spectral efficiency. He presented self-interference cancellation solutions and an IBFD prototype integrating three processing layers, demonstrating the potential of this technology for integrated sensing and communications in next-generation networks.
Following that, Prof. Andrew Zhang presented the concept of Perceptive Mobile Networks (PMN) — an emerging direction in 6G that integrates sensing and communication capabilities within a unified infrastructure. He discussed the PMN system framework, major research challenges such as joint waveform design and sensing parameter estimation, and highlighted two practical applications: smart homes (for human tracking and behavior analysis) and environmental sensing (for water level and rainfall monitoring).
Beyond the technical content, Prof. Zhang also shared numerous opportunities for research collaboration and academic development between institutions. He introduced PhD scholarship programs at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia, providing valuable guidance for expanding scientific cooperation and promoting global academic connections, thereby helping students and lecturers access international research and study opportunities.
The organizers would like to express their sincere appreciation to Prof. Andrew Zhang and Dr. Tuyen Le for their time and insightful presentations, which combined strong academic depth with practical relevance. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to all delegates, researchers, lecturers, and students for their enthusiastic participation and valuable contributions, which greatly contributed to the success of the seminar.
