The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is now inviting applications for fully funded PhD scholarships in RF Integrated Circuit Design, commencing in 2026.
Successful candidates will receive: AUD 39,000 per year (tax-free stipend), Full tuition fee waiver, Funding support for up to 3.5 years. Opportunity to earn an additional AUD 5,000 per year through the Performance Top-up Award.
Candidates will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects in:
AI-driven RF Design
Millimeter-Wave (mm-Wave) and D-band Systems
RFIC Design (Silicon and III-V Technologies)
Phased Array Transceivers
5G/6G Front-end Modules
Intelligent Circuit Synthesis
Essential Qualifications
– A degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Science
– Experience in RFIC or analog circuit design
– Strong academic performance and research potential
– IELTS overall score of 6.5 or above, with Writing ≥ 6.0 (or equivalent English proficiency)
Preferred Qualifications
Previous tape-out experience in any semiconductor process technology
Proficiency with industry-standard tools such as Cadence, ADS, or HFSS
Interest in applying Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to circuit design
