From January 14 to January 16, 2026, at the Ha Dong Campus, Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) collaborated with the Korean Institute of Information Scientists and Engineers (KIISE) to host the 40th International Conference on Information Networking (ICOIN 2026). The event gathered hundreds of scholars, scientists, and experts from prestigious universities and research institutes worldwide, marking a significant milestone in the field of computer communications and network technology.
The year 2026 holds special significance as ICOIN celebrates its 40th anniversary of formation and development (1986–2026). A four-decade journey not only affirms the academic prestige and professional quality of the conference but also reflects its parallel progression with the robust development of the Internet and global network infrastructure. From foundational research on computer networks, ICOIN has evolved into a reputable scientific forum, pioneering discussions on emerging technological trends such as 6G, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Quang Anh – Vice President of Institute delivers a speech
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Quang Anh – Vice President of Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology – emphasized the significance of PTIT’s selection as the host for the ICOIN conference’s 40th anniversary. This serves as recognition of the Institute’s academic reputation, organizational capacity, and increasingly clear role within regional and international ICT research and training networks.
ICOIN 2026 left a strong international imprint, with participation from scientists from various countries and territories across Asia, Europe, and North America. The conference selected 223 scientific papers for publication, 30 of which were conducted by staff and lecturers from the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology. The presented works created a multi-dimensional, in-depth, and up-to-date academic exchange space.
A highlight of the conference was the keynote sessions delivered by world-leading speakers, such as Professor Moe Z. Win (Massachusetts Institute of Technology – MIT, USA) and Professor Shui Yu (University of Technology Sydney – UTS, Australia). Their deep analyses of quantum localization, advanced wireless communications, and cybersecurity attracted significant interest from the research community, while opening up crucial insights for future research directions.
ICOIN 2026 was organized in a hybrid format, combining both in-person and online participation, providing favorable conditions for domestic and international delegates to present, discuss, and connect academically. The scale of organization, professional quality, and composition of participants continue to affirm ICOIN’s professionalism, openness, and rising stature within the system of international scientific conferences.
The discussion topics at ICOIN 2026 focused on central current research areas, such as next-generation networks (5G, 6G, IoT), advanced mobile communication systems, AI-integrated intelligent network architectures, Software-Defined Networking (SDN), and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV). In addition, content on cloud computing, edge computing, big data processing, information security, privacy, and quality of service was analyzed in depth, closely linking academic research to the practical needs of the digital society.
ICOIN 2026 represents an opportunity for PTIT to expand its international cooperation network, enhance academic exchange, and help affirm Vietnam as a reliable destination for large-scale global scientific and technological events. Through the conference, the research community remains connected, sharing knowledge and promoting cooperation, thereby creating momentum for the advancement of science and technology in the digital era.
